Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
1. Introduction
Smart Living Tips ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information on our public buying-guide site and any owner-operated Pinterest content workflow connected to the site.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Reader Information: Information you choose to send through email or site forms, such as a question, correction request, or partnership request.
- Account Information: When the site owner connects a Pinterest account via OAuth, we receive tokens that allow the app to use approved Pinterest API scopes. We do not store Pinterest passwords.
- Content Data: Content created, scheduled, or published through the owner-operated workflow, including titles, descriptions, images, and scheduling preferences.
- Usage Data: Information about site/page usage and guide performance.
- Click Data: If a Pinterest Pin uses our redirect tracking route, we may store the Pin ID, destination URL, referrer, user agent, timestamp, and a hashed IP address.
3. Pinterest API Scopes
The app requests only the scopes needed to manage owned Pinterest content:
- user_accounts:read: verify the connected Pinterest account.
- boards:read: list owned boards and resolve board IDs.
- boards:write: create or update owned boards when the account owner requests it.
- pins:read: read published Pin metadata and performance data.
- pins:write: create or update original Pins on owned boards.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To publish and maintain buying guides and editorial content
- To respond to correction, privacy, affiliate review, and partnership requests
- To schedule and publish owner-approved Pinterest content
- To improve the site, guide quality, and reader experience
- To understand which Pins and guides drive useful outbound clicks
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. We use secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission.
6. Third-Party Services
The owner-operated workflow integrates with third-party services including Pinterest API and content tools. The public site may also use affiliate networks and display advertising providers when active. Each service has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data necessary for these integrations to function.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, we remove all stored tokens and personal data within 30 days.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Revoke access to connected social media accounts at any time
- Opt out of any analytics or tracking
9. Cookies, Affiliate Links, and Ads
The owner-operated workflow may use essential cookies for authentication and session management. The public site may include affiliate links and display ads when those services are active. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies. Affiliate links may include tracking parameters so merchants can attribute purchases.
10. Affiliate Disclosure
Some links may be affiliate links. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
